Loud & Queer is an LGBTQIA+ music radio show. Music by us and for us, because representation matters and so do the songs that shape us. It’s hosted by Jo and broadcast from Whakatū on Fresh FM.

Expect interviews, new music, songs from all eras, and the occasional deep dive or guest mix.

About Jo

My name is Jo. For transparency, I am a queer person who uses she and they pronouns. I’m pākehā – 6th generation pākehā on Mum’s side and Dad moved here from the UK in the 1970s. I’m also in my forties.

I can only represent myself, so I aim to speak with and include the music of takatāpui, queer people of colour, MVPFAFF+, transgender people, nonbinary and cisgender queer folk, people younger than me, our queer elders, and as many areas of the LGBTQIA+ rainbow that I can.
